North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Illinois, carries more than a century of history and one of the most compelling championship stories in American golf. The club’s current course was laid out by renowned architect Hugh Alison of Colt, MacKenzie and Alison, opening in 1922 across a 170-acre property in Chicago’s northern suburbs. The course has retained much of its original character and is currently ranked No. 23 in Illinois by Golf Digest. North Shore entered the national spotlight as host of the 1928 Western Open before welcoming the 1933 U.S. Open. That championship produced one of golf’s enduring milestones when Johnny Goodman defeated the world’s leading professionals to become the last amateur ever to win the U.S. Open. The club later hosted the 1939 and 1983 U.S. Amateurs, the 2011 Western Amateur and the PGA TOUR Champions’ Encompass Championship from 2013 through 2015. This exclusive opportunity includes golf for three guests accompanied by a North Shore Country Club member, offering rare access to a historic private course that has tested major champions, elite amateurs and generations of Chicago golfers. Note: - Mutually agreeable date - Subject to member/club availability and scheduling - Must be redeemed by 12/31/27 or subject to forfeiture.
A note from American Junior Golf Association: The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. We are raising money to support junior golfers who lack the financial resources to compete in national golf events. All funds raised from this auction will be used to provide scholarships allowing these juniors and their families to get reimbursed for travel related expenses, tournament fees, equipment, and other expenses related to being competitive.
The AJGA hosts over 150 tournaments a year and college coaches, equipment suppliers, and sponsors are invited to each event giving these juniors a chance to display their skills and earn college scholarships.
Every dollar raised through this auction will go directly back to the juniors and our Liberty National Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant. Tax receipts will be sent to the winning bidder. Questions can be directed to the AJGA by emailing pclarke@ajga.org.
Item delivery: After you have paid for any auction items that you won, the event organizer will contact you to coordinate delivery.
