As the only club to host U.S. Opens for men and women on its dual courses, Baltusrol’s mission is to honor its heritage as the leading 36-hole championship golf club in America. Founded in 1895, Baltusrol has been synonymous with American championship golf since 1901, hosting 16 USGA Championships and two PGA Championships, with more scheduled to follow. This continued commitment reflects Baltusrol founder Louis Keller’s intention to create the leading golf club for the leading city in the country, an ambition that later earned Baltusrol National Historic Landmark status due primarily to its dual courses, the first of their kind, which were designed and improved by A.W. Tillinghast from 1918-1935. In 2014, Baltusrol Golf Club became one of only four golf course properties in the country to be named a National Historic Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior and the National Park Service. Baltusrol comprises arguably the most important and influential design of leading early-20th-century golf course architect A.W. Tillinghast (1874–1942), where he established his principles of golf course architecture and “the course beautiful,” providing golfers with a strategic test set within a naturalistic landscape. This item is for an accompanied round of golf for three including lunch.
A note from American Junior Golf Association: The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. We are raising money to support junior golfers who lack the financial resources to compete in national golf events. All funds raised from this auction will be used to provide scholarships allowing these juniors and their families to get reimbursed for travel related expenses, tournament fees, equipment, and other expenses related to being competitive.
The AJGA hosts 140 tournaments a year and college coaches, equipment suppliers, and sponsors are invited to each event giving these juniors a chance to display their skills and earn college scholarships.
Every dollar raised through this auction will go directly back to the juniors and our Liberty National Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant. Tax receipts will be sent to the winning bidder. Questions can be directed to the AJGA by emailing hcollins@ajga.org.
Item delivery: After you've paid for any auction items that you've won, the event organizer will contact you to coordinate delivery. Auctions won that include golf at private clubs will be coordinated through the AJGA in partnership with the private club and/or the hosting member. Winners of auction items should read carefully the terms and conditions included with the particular item you're bidding on and the winner and where included, guests, must comply with all T's & C's listed.
