Scioto Country Club from its inception has always been an important part of the history of Upper Arlington and the city of Columbus. Opening in 1916 as a centerpiece of Upper Arlington, the Club is the focal point of a community that is one of the finest in the country. Renovated in 2022 by Andrew Green, today it stands as a pillar of the Upper Arlington Community, an important gathering place for family and friends, and a treasured part of the history of central Ohio. Designed as the first 18-hole golf course in central Ohio by renowned Scottish-born architect Donald Ross, it later became the Club where golf’s greatest player, Jack Nicklaus, learned the game. With the opening of the golf course in 1916, the Club quickly gained national stature as a pre-eminent facility and a decade later hosted the 1926 U.S. Open Championship won by golfing legend Bobby Jones. This started the rich tournament tradition that Scioto enjoys as one of only five golf courses in the United States to have hosted five different major championships. The 1931 Ryder Cup, the 1950 PGA Championship, the 1968 U.S. Amateur, and the 1986 Senior U.S. Open each added to the tournament legacy and prestige of the Club. Today, the course provides a great test to the finest players in the world, ready to host major championships, and yet is one that is most enjoyable for all levels of players. The practice facility features generous tee grounds and multiple short-game areas and incorporates an indoor facility and teaching center for year around practice, club fitting, and lesson programs. This item is for an accompanied round of golf for three at Scioto Country Club. Caddie fees are included.

A note from American Junior Golf Association: The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. We are raising money to support junior golfers who lack the financial resources to compete in national golf events. All funds raised from this auction will be used to provide scholarships allowing these juniors and their families to get reimbursed for travel related expenses, tournament fees, equipment, and other expenses related to being competitive. The AJGA hosts 140 tournaments a year and college coaches, equipment suppliers, and sponsors are invited to each event giving these juniors a chance to display their skills and earn college scholarships. Every dollar raised through this auction will go directly back to the juniors and our Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant. Tax receipts will be sent to the winning bidder. Questions can be directed to the AJGA by emailing hwaits@ajga.org.

Item delivery: After you've paid for any auction items that you've won, the event organizer will contact you to coordinate delivery.
