The Blue Course at Congressional Country Club has recently undergone a complete restoration/renovation by Andrew Green. The remodeled course is quite frankly, breathtaking. The Fried Egg Golf's Andy Johnson describes it: ""At Congressional Blue, Green decided to draw on the original Devereux Emmet design for inspiration but not strictly restore it. Because previous earthmoving had flattened the fairways, Green focused on creating contours in the hole corridors that resembled those of the natural surrounding areas. Congressional’s topography now has a muscular look, which is characteristic of the D.C. region." In addition to reshaping, Green made strategic elements a priority. The Blue Course now offers advantageous angles to shots that flirt with hazards and features greens with memorable contouring and a variety of pin positions. Sometimes the restored landforms result in blind shots, and Green didn’t shy away from those. All in all, a round at the revised Congo is a game of chess rather than checkers. Congressional Country Club has played host to numerous professional golf events such as the U.S. Open (1964, 1997, and 2011), PGA Championship (1976), U.S. Senior Open (1995), AT&T National (2007 - 2009 and 2012 - 2013) and Quicken Loans National (2014 and 2016). This package includes a green fee for three at Congressional Country Club, with drinks and lunch. Caddie fees will be covered as well.
A note from American Junior Golf Association: The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. We are raising money to support junior golfers who lack the financial resources to compete in national golf events. All funds raised from this auction will be used to provide scholarships allowing these juniors and their families to get reimbursed for travel related expenses, tournament fees, equipment, and other expenses related to being competitive.
The AJGA hosts 140 tournaments a year and college coaches, equipment suppliers, and sponsors are invited to each event giving these juniors a chance to display their skills and earn college scholarships.
Every dollar raised through this auction will go directly back to the juniors and our Liberty National Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant. Tax receipts will be sent to the winning bidder. Questions can be directed to the AJGA by emailing hcollins@ajga.org.
Item delivery: After you've paid for any auction items that you've won, the event organizer will contact you to coordinate delivery.
